Job Overview:

The Product Advancement Specialist is a key member of the product team, playing a crucial role in applying subject matter expertise to bridge the gap between law firm users (civil litigation file clerks, legal assistants and paralegals) and Foundation AI’s product and data science teams.  This individual will leverage their civil litigation document background to provide insights into the different types of documents found in personal injury and civil litigation, and work with the teams to ensure that Foundation AI’s product and AI models execute flawlessly in the real world.

Responsibilities: 

United States Civil Litigation Document Expertise:

  • Utilize legal support/paralegal  knowledge to identify and tag civil litigation documents needed to support data science and product initiatives (with specific focus on pre-litigation and litigated personal injury claims.
  • Serve a subject matter expert and player-coach to other team members responsible for document identification and tagging.

Agile Project Execution:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers/data scientists, designers, and business analysts in the US and India.
  • Assist in preparing data for model training, testing, and validation, including internal experiments and assessment of real-world performance in US civil litigation practice across multiple US states..
  • Work closely with the Product Team and company stakeholders to strategize and execute AI model improvements and product enhancements.

Communication:

  • Communicate requirements, updates, and changes effectively to the data science team, product team and other stakeholders.
  • Document performance and progress through JIRA project management software, excel, and excellent spoken and written email communication.

Skills and Tools:

  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience in US civil litigation, with experience providing legal support and paralegal services for US personal injury litigation firms preferred.
  • Prior experience with medical record review in personal injury/civil litigation matters is a plus.
  • Interest in data science, LLMs, and prompt-engineering highly preferred.
  • Desire to gain a strong understanding of agile methodology and processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline (preferred).
